Some rebates exclusive to home energy audit participants
By participating in the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program, you may be eligible for additional SRP rebates. Once you've completed your home checkup, ask your contractor for details about the following offers.
Air leaks let a sizable portion of cooling and heating costs sneak past you. These leaks can have a negative impact on insulation performance, making sealing them a critical step toward improving the efficiency and comfort of your home.
Rebate offer: 75% of the cost to seal air leaks (up to $250)
Eligibility requirements: Air sealing must meet minimum building ventilation requirements set by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers code 62-89. All materials and installation processes must meet the Building Performance Institute (BPI) building analyst standards. The home's existing leakage (before air sealing is completed) must be greater than or equal to 16 air changes per hour to qualify for this rebate.
For insulation to be effective, it must be installed properly in the right locations and be free of gaps, voids and compressions.
When combined with sealed air leaks, properly installed insulation provides for more even temperatures throughout the house—resulting in a quieter, more comfortable home.
Rebate offer: 75% of the insulation cost (up to $400)
Eligibility requirements: This insulation rebate applies only to attics and is based on the improvement of the insulation's R-value.
- Existing insulation with an effective R-value less than R-38 that is improved up to R-30 can qualify for a rebate.
- Insulation greater than R-19 but performing under this value may qualify for a rebate to improve insulation up to R-38. Evidence of under performance (e.g., photos and thermal images) and an explanation must accompany the rebate form.
- This rebate does not cover existing insulation of R-19 or greater or insulation upgrades beyond R-38.
Insulation improvements must be made in combination with air sealing unless documentation proves air sealing is unnecessary. All materials and installation processes must meet BPI building analyst standards.
A typical home loses 20% of the cooled air moving through the duct system because of leaks or improper installation. Tightly sealed and well-insulated ducts can:
- Save $200 or more in annual energy costs.
- Maintain even temperatures throughout the home.
- Prevent allergens like dust, pollen or pests from entering your home.
Rebate offer: 75% of the cost of qualified duct repairs (up to $400)
Eligibility requirements: All materials and installation processes must meet BPI building analyst standards.
High-efficiency cooling system rebate
Replacing a 10- to 15-year-old system with a high-efficiency heat pump or air conditioner can save 30% to 40% on cooling costs.
The efficiency of heat pumps and air conditioners is expressed by the seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER). The higher the SEER, the more cooling you will get for your dollar. In addition, correct sizing and proper installation of the system are critical to ensuring the system operates at peak efficiency to provide you maximum comfort.

Eligibility requirements: All units must be listed in the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) unitary directory or any subsequent AHRI-announced product modifications.
Shade screen discount
Half of the heat entering a home in summer can enter through glass, making keeping summer's heat out a major challenge. But SRP makes it easy and affordable. Installing shade screens is a cost-effective option to make your home more comfortable during Arizona's hottest months.
Installing shade screens on the outside of your east-, west- and south-facing windows can reduce summer heat gain by up to 80%—keeping you cool and comfortable.
Rebate offer: $0.80 per installed square foot
Eligibility requirements: Exterior shade screens must block 80% or more of the sun's rays and be installed on east-, west- and south-facing clear glass windows.
*Eligibility limited to SRP Home Performance with ENERGY STAR participants.
